After Treatment: Planning Follow-up Care Back Home

How to keep in touch with your care team and plan what happens next.

A little clarity first

Discuss follow-up before travelling, and confirm the plan again before leaving the hospital. Know who will review your progress, which records you need and how to ask for help.

Agree on the next appointment

Ask whether follow-up needs to happen in Thailand, remotely or with a clinician at home. Confirm availability, timing, cost and who is responsible for arranging it. Do not assume that online follow-up is available for every service.

Take the right information home

Ask for the relevant reports, results, treatment summary and medicine instructions in a language you and your next clinician can use. Confirm how records can be shared securely. Keep a written list of questions that still need an answer.

Know how to get help

Request individual advice on when to seek medical attention, who to contact and when it is appropriate to travel. Keep routine enquiries separate from urgent medical needs. If urgent care is needed, use local medical services rather than waiting for a concierge response.
