A little clarity first
Look for a hospital that can explain the proposed care, who provides it and how you will be supported. A reassuring photograph is a starting point, not enough to make the decision.
Check the clinical team and service
Ask about the clinician’s qualifications and experience relevant to your needs. Confirm which facility will provide the service. If accreditation is part of your comparison, verify the current status with the relevant accrediting organisation rather than relying on a logo alone.
Make communication part of your choice
Confirm your preferred language for consultations, consent documents and reports. Ask who can help if you do not understand a term, and whether interpretation has an additional cost. You should have time to ask questions before making a decision.
Ask what happens if plans change
Request written information on changes, cancellations, additional treatment and follow-up arrangements. Keep the hospital’s contact details and know who to reach during your stay and after returning home. Ask about the process for raising concerns.
